Transactional vs Transformational

Is finding a psychological motivation for action as important as the business demand for action?

Today I challenge you to truly consider this quote by Albert Einstein:

“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift, the rational mind is a faithful servant, we have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.”

With that, I suggest we cannot feed one and starve the other.  So how do we find our psychological motivation or stir our intuitive mind? Redirecting our activity and attention away from the stresses of demand and focusing on the purpose of the business can allow for renewed psychological motivation. Demands drain our energy, creativity and innovation.  Motivation infuses energy, vitality, clarity, and direction.

Where to start?

In this very moment you can decide to return to the purpose of your business.  Perhaps you review your exit strategy.  Is today’s activity serving the business purpose?  Is your “end game” strategy at work and on schedule? Returning to purpose allows for a renewed commitment to the motivation that got you here to begin with.
